Film Reviews
This section covers my experience with a number of different film types. I no longer use film since my conversion to all-digital photography in November 2007.
Equipment
Scanner: HP Photosmart S20
This is a consumer-level film scanner capable of scanning up to 2400 DPI. Colour balance, contrast and shading are accurate. The software allows many possible corrections or crops, and is easy to use. The scanner does produce some noise in dark areas, which is why shadow detail tends to be better with negative film than with slide film.
Camera: Chinon Genesis GS-7
This is an
automatic SLR camera from the early 1990's that I bought second-hand in
2003.
