Colour -- Accurate but not saturated
Contrast -- Low
Kodak High-definition 400 has a very slight green cast but overall accurate colours. However, contrast is very low, especially in photos taken on overcast days. This results in good shadow detail, but it gives the photos a flat, non-vibrant appearance.
This photo received slightly increased exposure when scanned, and no colour correction.

Sharpness -- Good
This is a cropped 2400 DPI scan from the image above.
A closer look reveals that Kodak H-D 400 still has a noticeable grain. However, it's good for a 400-speed film and is finer than that of standard Kodak MAX 400. Sharpness is about on par with a good 200-speed film but not quite that of a 100-speed film. The rivets and lifts rings on the locomotive and the trees in the background are fairly well-defined.

Overall --
Similar to MAX 400 in many respects,
H-D 400 has a slightly finer grain and better sharpness, but bland colour
and contrast. It shares the versatility of MAX 400 in all light conditions.
