New: The main site address of "http://trainiax.0catch.com" will now display this homepage.

Above: (click for full-size version) Here's St. Lawrence & Atlantic GP40M-3 3804, racing towards Waterville, Quebec, in this pan shot at... well, 18 mph. Credit 100-speed film for this one. But when you consider that 3804, combined with RM-1 road slug 804, GP40M-3 3805 and RM-1 805, total only 6500 horsepower at the head of an 89-car freight on a 0.5% grade, the performance is pretty impressive. This photo was taken on June 04, 2005 and is a preview of the many dozen new photos that are currently being scanned and uploaded.

Welcome to Trainiax!  Here you'll find drawings, recordings, photos and loads of info that relate to one of the world's most fascinating modes of transportation.

What you'll find in the site:

-Over 1600 computer-generated drawings of trains in two sizes developed over the last three years
-Over 500 modified, painted or created drawings sent in by contributors
-Photos of trains from around the world
-Sound recordings of diesel and electric trains
-Pages devoted to interesting train-related facts and information
-Links to other train pages

For anyone new to railfanning, all the photos of operational North American trains are of diesel-electric locomotives, the only kind used for most North American freights. Their numerous model designations and several builders may seem confusing, not to mention the terms used to describe how they work, so if there's anything you'd like to know more about, e-mail me. Any questions or comments, or reported problems with the site, are also very much appreciated. Send anything to ebyj@videotron.ca.

Check back every so often-- I update the site several times a week, with drawing, recording and photo additions along with homepage facelifting. Drawings requested from site viewers are always in progress. All Aboard!
