Trainiax
Welcome to Trainiax! In this site you'll find drawings, photos and recordings of trains—one of the world's most fascinating modes of transportation. All Aboard!
About the Site
Site Content
- Drawings: Computer-generated raster line drawings that I have been making since late 2000
- Photos: Roster and detail images of trains that I've taken mostly in Quebec and Ontario, Canada, often for use as reference material for making drawings
- Recordings: Audio files of trains from 2000 to 2016
- Train Info: Locomotive descriptions and details that I've gathered over the years, along with a behind-the-scenes look at the history of the drawings and of the site itself
I make regular updates to the site with new photos and drawings. Check the What's New section for site updates! Any questions or comments, or reported problems with the site, are very much appreciated.
25 years
As of March 2025, Trainiax has been online for 25 years! I started it back in 2000 at the age of 14 as a way to share train drawings, photos and sound recordings. Although the site has since grown in size and complexity, the core purpose has remained the same.
The first page to go online was called "Michael Eby's Train Homepage," with a filename of mehompage.htm (to this day, many of the page filenames retain their original "me" prefix). I was known as a "trainiac" among my family and friends, and since this website is aimed at fellow "trainiacs" that was the first suggestion (from my parents in 2000) for a more original name.
